Fertility Friday

Pick a day of the week...any day.  We chose Friday and call it "Fertility Friday".  Easier to remember.

Our objective is to be consistent in providing fertility to growing crops.

Be careful though, because more is not better.
We only want to provide the amounts of nutrients that are needed (in available quantities) and that can be used by the plant, or else we can create imbalances (which can make us feel like the wheels came off the wagon).

We have a number of tools we can use to get closer to the ideal fertility quantities.

Say "NO"

Say "No" to....

  • High Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS)
  • Monosodium Glutamate (MSG)
  • Roundup weed killer (Pesticide) - main ingredient is Glyphosate

These are all ingredients or chemical compounds which are present in our foods and many believe are endangering our health.
Do some research and decide for yourself.

Nitrogen is a chemical element with the symbol N.
It has the atomic number of 7 (the number of protons in orbit around a Nitrogen atom's nucleus).
Nitrogen acts as an isotope alternating between the nitrate form and the ammonium form.

Nitrate nitrogens promote growth response in plants and support fruiting response.

Ammoniacal nitrogens promote fruiting response and support growth response.
